Video publishing and visual communication tools take again center-stage here at Master New Media, and just like every other week, I am just back from my research and explorations with Robin to bring you back some cool visual communication tools. Want to enhance the quality of your videos and images, need to download video clips from major sharing sites, or have to resize and convert images in batch mode or need to create your own font typeface with no technical knowledge? I have got the tool you are looking for.

Here the eight visual communication tools that I have selected for you this week:

  7. Digital Camera Enhancer: Free downloadable editor lets you to improve your digital images in a fast and easy way
  8. FontStruct: Create and edit fonts online with a Flash based editor

    Get2PC is an online video converter that allows you to download FLV videos from all major video sharing services. All you have to do is paste one or more URLs into the text box, click the button, and wait for the download window to appear. You can convert up to 10 videos at once, and also get them converted in .3gp video format. Free to use, no registration needed.

Visual Communication Tools



  1. Shup

    Shup is a free tool that allows you to capture regions of your screen with a simple key combination and makes it easy to upload all of your images to major photo sharing services like Flickr from your Windows explorer right-click menu. It also includes a basic image editor, which provides a paintbrush and a highlighter pen for drawing, as well as a rectangle tool for flood filling and cropping your images. Free to download and use.

    Rsizr is an online service that allows you to edit your images. After upload any image from your pc, you can retarget it, just by using two sliders, resize it, and even crop it. When done, you can save it back on your machine selecting the compression method(PNG or JPG) and quality. Free to use, without any registration.

    Squash is a free portable application, meaning that can run without installing it, that works on Windows, Mac and Linux, and that lets you batch resize and convert images. After you select the images, all you have to do is to select the new output dimension, output folder and format, and click Resize. Squash is free to download and use.

    FontStruct is a free online application that can be used to create fonts. Built on a really intuitive Flash interface, FontStruct lets you create or browse into existing or user-created fonts, that you can modify as you like dot-by-dot: it means that you can actually draw every pixel of your new font in each letter and number that compose it. When you are done, you can save your font so that everyone can see it, and also download it on your machine. Free.
