Remix The BBC
The latest creative incentive the BBC is offering its own audiences to have them start participating more tangibly in the making of media is a video-editing competition in which participants get to remix selected BBC openly-licensed video footage.
The competition is running now and will last throughout September at the Radio 1 and 1Xtra Superstar VJs sites. Mixes must be three minutes long and backed to a mix of either unsigned music from OneMusic or commercial music clips no longer than 30 seconds in length.
The best mix will win VJ equipment and the winner will VJ live to a mix of their choice on these radio stations.
After October 10th a selection of the best mixes will go online along with the winning mix.
You can also watch a a very uninspiring sample video mix right here.
Unfortunately only UK residents, or better yet, people connecting from the UK can participate in this competition and download the video and audio clips made available.
The initiative is supported by the Creative Archive Licence initiative. Learn more about it here.
