Rati Goes To The Coiffeur

Technorati has just launched a brand new look online. It finally sports the lines and profiles of a serious, online professional service and gets finally rid of the several links to sections forever under construction and to those others not always clear Technorati trend-spotting sections.

Now a simple and undisturbed search box reinforces the immediate focus of the Technorati blog search engine. Search for content on a topic, search for citations of a specific site and measure the authority of anyone blog by asking Technorati to provide is continuosly updated list of sites and links converging to any URL you provide.

Covering over three million blogs, Technorati has indeed become a solid credibility and authority reference for anyone publishing through blogs or similar technologies online. Too bad that the service has been forever plagued by inconsistent service, long reponse times, unclear information about specific facilites.

Technorati is incredibly useful in allowing the rapid assessment of the "authority" level of any blog site while enormously facilitating the discovery of other blogosphere sources mentioning /linking back to anyone's writings. Nonetheless the above frustrations I have not been able to supplant Technorati with anything else.

It is just that good.

The new look is complemented by a very elegant, simple and extremely well organized interface.

Usable and easy.

Good work David. Give us now, a reliable, always-responding, well documented and fast service and a way to integrate your credibility indicators into our own news sites and we can forget about the past.
;-)
