Did you know that the WTC disaster has had a tragic environmental impact on the area the former twin towers?

In the WTC collapse were in fact involved over 50,000 computer all containing between 4 and 12 pounds of lead, for an approximate total of 400,000 pounds of lead which went into the air on September 11 2001. Not only. The WTC towers contained over 200,000 pounds of Asbestos, a fibre that is easily inhaled or swallowed, and which causes a number of serious diseases including cancer. The WTC towers exploded in the air also over 10,000 fluorescent bulbs which contained Vanadium in enough quantity to contaminate 2500 blocks of a city like NY.

And ReOpen911.org is not the only initiative working hard at trying to bring back some attention and interest around this tragic event.

Loose Change 911 is another interesting project fighting to bring to completion a fascinating documentary about the 911 issues that never received an exhaustive explanation. Directed by Dylan Avery, 22, this has the cards to be one of the hottest independent investigative documentaries to come out on this topic.
