Online Collaboration Tools - New Technologies And Web Services - Sharewood Picnic Mar31 08

Create your own videoconferencing room, annotate and mark up multimedia files and easily record all of your Skype or other VoIP calls. More juicy stuff as I have new tools also to send and share very large files without using email. All of the above and more in this week collaboration tools Picnic.

  3. FileCrunch: Upload and share any file up to 250 MB via a sharing link
  4. Taskbin: Create groups, share tasks, set their priorities, and get notifications for your and other people's tasks
  5. Jajah Buttons Place a button on your website allowing anyone to call you without giving them your phone number
  6. EasyVoipRecorder: Record and export in multiple formats any VoIP conversation
  7. Soashable: Meebo open-souce clone lets you connect to major instant messaging networks
  8. Slick: Mobile instant messenger for Symbian based phones enables you to access ICQ, Yahoo! and AIM




Online Collaboration Technologies - New Tools And Web Services

  1. Vawker
    Vawkr is a videoconferencing chat service that allows you to get your own video conferencing chat room and have web conference with anyone. After you register to the service and create your videoconferencing room, you can invite other people to join in simply by sending them your room's URL. The only available controls are the volume and microphone adjustment. The service is completely web-based and free to use.

  2. Cozimo
    Cozimo is a web-based collaboration tool that allows you to collaborate on multimedia files with others. After you upload videos, images or PDF files, workgroup members can be invited and annotate, draw or leave notes on this content together. They can do this on their own or they can work together with any number of workgroup members in live real-time review sessions. Free.

  3. FileCrunch
    FileCrunch is a free file hosting solution that you can use to share files up to 250MB each. With no sign up needed, you can browse for files on your computer, to which you can add an additional description. Then just click upload, wait for the progress bar to complete, and share the download with everyone you want to send the file to. The service is completely free to use, with no registration needed.

  4. Taskbin
    Taskbin is a web-based service that allows you to "share" tasks with a group of people. You can create an unlimited number of tasks, each with its own priority level(now, today, tomorrow, sometime this week and sometime soon). All your and other people's tasks can have email and/or RSS notifications. The application is ideal for work with cross location teams with its mobile support and has great support for multiple time zones. Free.

  5. Jajah Buttons
    Jajah Buttons is a new addition by the famous VoIP provider. It's an embeddable widget for you to put anywhere(as blogs, websites, email signatures...) and that allows you to have a "Call Button" for anyone to call you without having to give out your real number. They simply enter their phone number, click call, and they'll automatically be connected with you for free.

  6. EasyVoipRecorder
    EasyVoipRecorder is a small software that you can use tp record VOIP conversations. With this tool you can record and store conversations from services like MSN Live, Gtalk , Skype, Yahoo Messenger, and many more. After you finish a conversation, you export it in WAV/OGG/MP3/SPEXX formats. You can download it and try it for free, and buy it for $19.99.

  7. Soashable
    Soashable is an open-source Meebo clone and alternative. Besides the hosted application, you can also integrate it on your website by installing it on you server taking full advantage of the costomizable skinnig functionalitites. It supports MSN, Yahoo, and AIM instant messaging networks. If you want the service to store your login credentials, you just have to sign up to it for free, else you can simply use it without egistering. Free.

  8. Slick
    Slick is a mobile instant messenger for Symbian based phones that anyone can use to chat on multiple IM networks. After you download and install the small application, you are able to connect to ICQ, Yahoo!, and AIM networks at once. It supports emoticons, sound alerts and tabbed chatting. Free to download and use.
