Image Editing and Visual Communication

  1. oRipa Screen Recorder
oRipa Screen Recorder is a free software that records screen activities and saves them as video files. oRipa Screen Recorder can help you record presentation, web pages, tutorials, or anything that is happening on your screen. You can save in multiple formats and codecs and add a real time audio narration to your captured videos. oRipa is free to download and use.

  2. PikiPimp
PikiPimp is a browser-based image editor, that enables you to edit your pictures with some basic editing tools. After you upload an image or type its URL, you are able to crop it, rotate it, set brightness, saturation, contrast, black&white, and more. It also offers many effects and tools, like sepia tone and captioning. When done, you can download the final image, and save it if you're a registered user. Free.

  3. Picturesque
Picturesque is a Mac-only application designed to make images look gorgeous for the web. With an animated "drag and drop" style interface, Picturesque can beautify your images with reflections, soft glows, shadows, delicate curves, strokes and fades in less time than it takes to open Photoshop. It can also edit in batch mode with a single click. It is free to try and costs only $19.50.

  4. Ifflo
Ifflo is a new picture sharing web site that you can use to share and search pictures. Ifflo allows you to search for pictures gathering results from popular sharing websites (like Flickr and Smugmug), or simply to browse them by category, upload date or randomly. Plus, you can submit your pictures from other sites, by providing the link of your photo's content. Ifflo is free to use.

  5. ImageLoop
ImageLoop is a new web-based service that you can use to store you pictures online and arrange them in slideshows. You can upload an unlimited number of pictures from your PC, by providing a URL, and by searching through Flickr, that you can then organize in personalized slideshows, which you can share and embed on your website. Plus, you can convert PPT files into slideshows. Free to use with unlimited storage space.

  6. Pictomio
Pictomio is a free downloadable software for windows machines that allows you to manage, view and arrange pictures in slideshows. Pictomio is really easy to use: you can use it to import your pictures and create photo libraries or arrange them in 3D image slideshows just by dragging and dropping the images on the timeline. Pictomio is free to download and use.

  7. Instantizer
Instantizer is a free online service that anyone can use to create Polaroid-like pictures. It doesn't need any registration to be used, and takes just a few seconds to create a picture: just select the picture you want from your PC, type the text you want to get under the picture, select the rotation the picture will have and click upload. You will then be provided with a link that you can use to download the picture. Free.

  8. Prezentit
Prezentit is an online service that allows you to create, share, and show your presentations online. It offers 10MB of free storage for your images and up to 10 presentations per user. After you create a presentation, you can share it, and grant your friends the ability to edit it, from wherever they are in the world. It is currently in free beta, with no registration is needed to try it.
