About this Guide

This independent Online Guide reviews and compares the best and most effective present-day Web conferencing and live presentation tools that individuals and small groups can utilize to conduct online meetings, live presentations, and distance training classes.

The Web Conferencing Online Guide contains useful insider information for:

a. Vendors of Web conferencing systems

b. Individuals and small business owners

c. Academic institutions, faculties and research centers

Why is this an Online Guide?

Originally I had published my Webconferencing Guide as PDF eBook. On Monday, July 7, 2003 the online version of my Guide has become available as a more user-friendly substitute for the 15MB original version.

I have decided to switch to an online version since this allows me to continuously provide you with the latest and most  up-to-date information. I can now easily edit and add any new tool appearing on the market as soon as I have tested it. This is something that I could not even dream of with my former PDF-based publishing workflow.

The content of the Web Conferencing Online Guide is revised and updated on a regular basis.

Starting with August 2003, I have been adding a new tool every ten days to the Official Guide. I also revise and update content on a daily basis.

Unique Features

  • Up-to-date information. The Online Guide is revised and updated on a regular basis.
  • Focus on tools that are highly cost-effective and reliable. 70% of the tools reviewed are not covered by other reports.
  • Based on extensive personal testing. Information is collected through personal testing and not only through submission of questionnaires and/or attendance to demonstrations.
  • Pragmatical and user-centered. I have tested for you each one of these tools and am reporting about what effectively works.
  • Main competitors in key areas of competence. Best tools are identified for separate Web conferencing features and application purposes (e.g. video conferencing, Web touring).
  • Comprehensive Vendor Contact Information. An up-to-date International Directory of Vendors with detailed contact information (address, phone, email, etc.) is available.
  • Independent reporting and advice. No marketing hype. No ads. No strings attached. Only valuable information.
  • Non-US centric view of Web conferencing. The report is taking into account the needs and requirements of users outside North America. For example, Web conferencing systems selected have been tested also for their ability to support dial-up connection speeds such as the ones obtainable when connecting with a standard modem.
