Web Touring - Co-Browsing

« PowerPoint Presentation Facilities | Main | Presence Awareness »

WebTrain offers a full co-browsing facility allowing easy co-navigation of any sequence of Web pages.

Access to the Web touring facility is available through WebTrain WebBoard, one of the core access modalities available together with Text Chat, WhiteBoard and MessageBoard.

The presenter has easy access to a URL address box in which to input the URL of the Web page to access.

Very simple to use, WebTrain co-browsing facility allows effective Web touring presentations where the presenter can follow a preset number of links to showcase a certain topic.

No facility is available to prerecord such list of URLs. Web page addresses to be showcased have to be input "on the spot" by the presenter.

According to WebTrain customer service the presenter can however prepare his webtour by running through the sites to be showcased prior to the meeting. Doing this would allow those URLs to remain accessible inside the URL address box history feature and could be easily accessed by clicking on the drop down menu next to it. In my experience, this is far from effective and most of the times it creates usability issues when a normal users attempts to use it for navigating a set of pre-arranged online Web pages.

In a co-browsing session it is not possible to have the audience follow the presenter if log-in procedures are required nor in the case of Web sites that utilize framesets.
