When it comes to security, WebTrain appears to eb a company that takes your concerns very seriously.

Security inside Webtrain meeting is first of all guaranteed by (optional) password-protected meetings which provide basic defense against unauthorized intruders.

WebTrain communication software uses only standard ports for client/server connections. Ports 80 and 443 are used. Port 80 is the WW3 standard for HTTP, and port 443 is the WW3 standard for HTTPS.

When clients are hosting or participating in a virtual meeting, all data is 128 bit encrypted before it is transmitted. Therefore, as the data packets hop from router to router to the final destination, the data is indecipherable.

All WebTrain logon processes are 128 bit SSL based. The SSL certificate is provided by Thawte, a leading provider of 128-bit encryption certificates. Thawte is synonymous with Trust, without a standards based SSL certificate, SSL compatibility becomes impossible. Internet Explorer has built-in trust for Thawte certificates.

All WebTrain software is distributed in VeriSigned CAB files, ensuring that you get only originally signed components. VeriSign is a trust certification organization which provides authenticity certificates to software developers who wish to undergo an approval process to ensure people that they are who they say they are. Internet Explorer has built-in trust for VeriSign certificates.

WebTrain also provides virus scanning and hostile object removal on all files uploaded to message boards.

Note:
Please consider that while I have had no hints that WebTrain is an unsecure or unsafe system to operate I must report that, like others, it uses ActiveX technology to make its technology work and Microsoft ActiveX has been a source of many hacks and vulnerabilities on Microsoft systems
