Polling

« Participant Controls | Main | Event Management »

WebTrain integrates in its interface a participants' panel which can be easily used to run polls and live surveys with the attending audience.

Participants in a WebTrain session have the option to send different visual feedback signals through a set of interactive icons appearing next to their names. Nonetheless the feature may not be as intuitive as it should, once you get the hang of it, it does provide an excellent and simple way to provide feedback to the presenter without having to use the microphone, the text chat window and with much greater immediacy.

By leveraging the effectiveness of these visual feedback icons it is easy for a presenter to ask participants to respond to a specific question, issue or to vote on a challenging topic. Not only everyone can see how is everyone else voting at a glance, but in the first row of the participants' panel a set of numbers helpfully summarize the totals for each type of feedback received. Useful indeed.

Limitations
More sophisticated surveys, polls and quizzes, requiring the use of multiple choice questions or the ability for the user to write a full answer are not available in WebTrain and need to be tackled through a separate complementary tool/service.
