Web Touring - Co-Browsing

« PowerPoint Presentation Facilities | Main | Presence Awareness »

WebConference.com integrates a Page Push facility which allows the presenter to easily "push" any selected Web page to all the attendees of a live meeting.

The Page Push facility opens up a new browser window with the selected Web page both on the presenter and on the participant side.

There is no effective co-browsing function as each user is left free to navigate the Web page received. The presenter can push further pages to the participants if she needs to show a sequence of pages while making sure that everyone is on the same page.

Cons:

  • There is no way to preview a Web page before "pushing" it to everyone else.
  • The fact that the Web page to be pushed is opened in a separate browser window and not inside the main presentation area of WebConference.com makes the process awkard and unintuitive at best.
  • Once the page is presented to the participant, the presenter has no longer control on where attendees can navigate.
