Video Conferencing

« Audio Conferencing - VoIP | Main | Desktop - Application Sharing »

WebConference.com fully leverages the flexibility and power of the Flash Communication Server by providing full videoconferencing abilities to the presenter and to up to eight additional participants.

Though in the basic WebConference.com interface only two video windows appear on the right side of the screen, a "Video" button on the main toolbar allows to call up a flexible videoconferencing room, which the presenter/moderator can set up to display from one to eight additional video windows.

The additional video windows are all displayed in the main presentation area and each participant can select to "maximize" anyone of the live videos while keeping the others in full view.

Maximizing any participant video feed makes it easy to have meetings and workshops in which several people have to come up to the podium to deliver a statement or conduct a discussion exercise.

Each user can also easily "freeze" or "pause" her own video stream by simply hovering her mouse on top of the video window and clicking on the video camera icon being displayed.

Cons:

  • Video windows cannot be easily dragged and positioned freely on the screen.
  • Video windows cannot be resized dynamically by the end user.
