File Sharing

« Remote Control | Main | Annotation Features - WhiteBoard »

With version 5 Webconference.com has introduced a powerful and effective file sharing facility which makes it easy to share any number of files with all of the participants to a live session.

At the click of a button a full file browsing dialog box is displayed providing the standard means to locate a file and to upload it for all participants to see.

Each one of the attendees can download any of the available files to her computer.

It is also as easy to select and delete any of the files previously uploaded to the File Sharing area.

An unchangeable maximum file size limit of 5MB has been set for files to be shared.

Cons:

  • If accidentally the File Sharing dialog box goes into the background of the main Webconference.com window it becomes difficult if not impossible to bring it back up.
  • It is not clear when one can upload a new file after having completed a previous upload. Though the display says task complete successfully, the server may still be performing some operations and the user is then prevented from immediately uploading other files.
  • The files uploaded are shared across all presentations delivered from your account. Therefore in certain situations one may need to organize different sets of files to be uploaded and/or deleted according to the type of event to be delivered online.
