Annotation Features - WhiteBoard

« File Sharing | Main | Recording »

Available as an option.

The whiteboard can be easily activated from the "Options" button, inside those systems that have requested it as an optional feature.

The whiteboard perfectly integrates inside the browser window normally utilized for co-browsing tasks.

The background of the whiteboard can be custom filled with any color desired.

A rich and comprehensive control panel provides access to all the necessary annotation, markup and drawing tools.

The whiteboard controls are among the most advanced and rich available in the market.

Multiple undos are possible at the click of the mouse.

To select pen and fill colors you need to either left-click (pen colors) or right-click (fill colors) to set your preferred defaults.

Typographical controls are quite effective and allow easy placement of text titles and other contents on the whiteboard.

The whiteboard can be set in one of the alternative operating modes. "Moderator only" allowing only the presenter to draw on it undisturbed or "Group drawing" allowing any and all participants to interact directly with it.

Some Limitations

Among the "background tools", "Load Picture" and "Paste from Clipboard" features are not yet available.

All the shapes drawn in the whiteboard are birtmaps which cannot be further edited or moved from their original position.

No transparency on / off feature is available. (Turning on and off annotation objects displayed on screen)

It is not possible to save a number of annotation objects and easily recall them on screen at will.

Fill styles are very poor both in number and quality.

Overall the whiteboard looks very impressive upon first scrutiny for the number of tools displayed on its main interface. Missing though the capability for on/off transparency, for easily saving annotations to be recalled, and finaly for loading up existing images make its effective use and application still quite limited.

An upgraded version covering some if not all of these limitations should be available soon (last tested Aug.23 2003).
