VoiceCafe OfficeMaster

Ease of Access

« Setup - Installation | Main | Customer Support »

As long as the end user PC configuration falls into VoiceCafe system requirements access to a VoiceCafe-enabled room is simple and straightforward.

What to look out for:

Other applications open or utilities running in the system tray and using up precious system memory.

Installation of Microsoft Java is required (as many PC do not have it installed) and it is made available at:
http://VoiceCafe.optecs.net/confighelp/msjavx86.exe

It must be noted that OpTecs Products have been designed for Internet Explorer 5.5+ browser with Service Pack2 or later installed. AOL users must use the IE browser to utilize the room. New or reformatted computers with IE 6.0 installed will be missing these VB files as Microsoft no longer includes them with the browser.

If a PC has the security settings set too high problems may arise in using voice or other functionalities. In such cases it is advised to "run" the following file:
http://VoiceCafe.optecs.net/confighelp/voiceSet.reg

VoiceCafe also states: "It's very IMPORTANT that ALL users that wish to access the voice rooms have the latest MS Security Updates installed, otherwise they won't be able to ACCESS the voice chat. We suggest that people install IE 6.0 as well as all Security Updates and start updating in advance so that they're not having to download and install just as a meeting is about to start: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/default.htm"
