VoiceCafe OfficeMaster

Desktop - Application Sharing

« Video Conferencing | Main | Remote Control »

The VoiceCafe OfficeMaster integrates an extremely powerful and effective application sharing module which can be accessed by clicking on the "COLLABORATE" button in the main OfficeMaster control panel.

The integrated tool requires a separate login after which a whole set of event management facilities become accessible. The "COLLABORATE" facility of the OfficeMaster is literally a tool within a tool, and for many aspects it greatly complements what is offered y the core VoiceCafe functionalities (Co-surfing + audio conferencing).

This integrated module brings by itself all of these extra functionalities:

  1. Application sharing
  2. Remote control
  3. Mark-up and live annotation tools
  4. File broadcasting
  5. Event management facilities (send invitations, schedule meetings, etc.)

The integrated module also duplicates the following functionalities already present in the basic OfficeMaster/VoiceCafe product line:

  1. 1) Audio conferencing - the facility integrated in the COLLABORATE facility is more sophisticated than the standard VoiceCafe one offering hands-free operation and full duplex out of the box. Quality maybe slightly better on the VoiceCafe native product.
  2. 2) Text chat - the two tools complement each other what is doable in one is not in the other and vice versa.
  3. 3) Co-surfing - VoiceCafe solution offers a better overall solution than Linktivity WebDemo

The integrated module offers complete access to all of the functionalities available in the Linktivity WebDemo 2.1 product, at a unique monthly rate. For more detailed information on this module please access the Linktivity WebDemo review in this report.

The application sharing functionality integrated in the OfficeMaster is very good and it performs in an excellent way on both slow and fast connections. A great deal of controls are available to the presenter to adjust and optimize the speed and quality of the content being presented. From the ability to set the number of colors to be broadcast to the choice of compression and updating approach to be used.

Finally, the "Viewport" approach utilized by this module to "select" the content on the presenter screen to be "shared" with the other participants is very intuitive and effective in its implementation.
