OverviewCost - Pricing Main Key Strengths VCOM Central is a competitively priced online service allowing basic audio conferencing, co-browsng, text chat and file broadcasting, along with some other basic moderator features. Almost unparalleled by other technologies in this sector VCOM Central sports a high-quality and low-bandwidth audio codec that provides almost spectacular audio quality even on low-to-moderate dial-up connection speeds. The unique and exceptional quality of the audio solution identified by VCOM Central is also supported by the fact that the exact same technology powering VCOM Central is the one behind the voice talk facilities of at least three other providers: a) Orbitalk.com http://www.orbitalk.com (see specific review), with some sharp differences in marketing approach, pricing model, and customer support. The Orbitalk version of this technology provides also application sharing, which is not available in VCOM Central. b) Voxwire, http://www.voxwire.com/ (see specific review), directly connected and spinned off from the same people who put together Orbitalk. Voxwire is set to serve also the ISP or wholesale market for potential redistributors of this valuable audio technology. c) Webconference.com, http://www.webconference.com/ (see specific review), which has licensed just the very voice chat module and doing away with the co-browsing facility which it has integrated by utilizing a more evolved and powerful solution from Pageshare.com. d) RoomTalk.net, http://www.roomtalk.net/ (see specific review), which provides an exclusive voice chat conferencing product mainly to Middle East customers. Personally, I consider the voice chat conferencing technology behind VCOM Central the first true alternative to international long distance phone calls that I have effectively been able to use. (Though in the past I had used MediaRing and Net2Phone tools, performance, audio quality and ease of use were not even comparable to what this technology makes possible). On the other hand, several aspects of VCOM Central, outside of its technology proposition, have left me wondering and asking myself questions about the credibility, reliability, future longevity and ethics of the people running it through the Champion Network Inc. company. The company used to have no Web presence outside what you could reach at: http://www.vcomcentral.net/ as it is managed with a MLM (multi-level-marketing) scheme in which each buyer becomes an authorized reseller and can make an interesting commission on her sales and on the people in her "downline". While the concept per se is not something I resist or find negative in some way, the approach utilized by VCOM to push a marketing and reselling inspiration in all of its customers can be a little too intrusive, while dressed with nice words and epic references. A new division of the Champion Network, called ITI Group has recently entered this market to expand the marketing opportunities of VCOM Central. The new ITI Group Web site has been launched at: Recently some positive refinements have also been made to the standard Web site that any buyer/reseller of VCOM Central "Ultimate Workstation" gets. The Web site is intended for the buyer to market and resell the VCOM Central web conferencing tool to others while making a commission at it in an MLM, pyramid scheme. (To get an impression see my site at: http://www.vcomcentral.net/my/luigicanali. Note that I am NOT reselling or promoting VCOM Central. This link has been included only to show the site to you.) The company behind ITI Group and VCOM central can be reached at: The Champion Network Inc.
