Audio & Video Conferencing
• Audio VoIP
Audio over IP is the ability to use the Internet Protocol to voice communicate. Voice over IP allows voice communications among multiple people without recurring to the use of the telephone. Voice quality can be as good or better than the telephone standard. Generally a small delay or latency is involved, similarly to what happened in the past to telephone calls going through satellites. This can generate a fastidious echo, which can be avoided by the use of headphones and better yet by the implementation of echo-cancellation features in the audio technology itself.
• Hands-free talking
Hands-free talking allows a participant in a Web conference to voice communicate without the need to hold or press down any button.
• Video
Video in a Web conference is intended as the ability for the presenter/moderator and for one or more of the participants to broadcast a video feed. Video window size, frame rate and quality may vary greatly and these solutions cannot provide the quality and performance of dedicated videoconferencing systems costing hundreds of thousands of US dollars. Nonetheless the above video facilities can greatly enhance and complement a presenter communication toolbox even at low frame rates and with small video windows.
• Max frame rate
The maximum video frame rate is the maximum number of video frames that can be displayed in a second. Normal television and film have frame rates ranging from 24 to 30 fps. Smoothness of movement can be achieved with frame rates as low as 15 fps or less.
• Max number of video feeds
The maximum number of video feeds represents the number of simultaneous, concurrent video windows that can be displayed simultaneously.
