Web-Touring - Co-Browsing

« PowerPoint Presentation Facilities | Main | Presence Awareness »

smartMeeting integrates a full co-browsing facility, allowing the synchronous view of Web pages by all attendees.

The co-browsing facility allows easy input of any Web page URL while providing five presets to access commonly used Web sites. Once a Web site URL has been typed in the dedicated area at the bottom right of the smartMeeting interface, pressing Enter/Return on the keyboard causes that Web page to be retrieved and displayed for everyone to see.

Co-browsing is fully implemented inside smartMeeting, allowing synchronous navigation to any URL being clicked on the shared Web browsing display. As the presenter or any of the participants click a new Web link, the new Web page requested is retrieved and shown to everyone.

smartMeeting co-browsing facility remembers URLs navigated before and provides two arrow-labeled buttons to surf back to any previously viewed URL.

Cons:

  • The presets cannot be changed by the end user and need to be customized on request by smartMeeting staff.
  • There is no way to view at once the list of URLs viewed before nor to access a specific one without going through the other ones as well.
