SecurityCustomer Support Main System Requirements smartMeeting integrates the following security protection mechanisms: The upload and downloading of PowerPoint presentations is encrypted with SSL, but the viewing of jpegs files that are created from them (as well as the screen capture results) are not encrypted. The documents themselves are then stored in a SQL database and only accessible to authenticated users. Voice and 3D interaction are secured by being embedded in smartMeeting proprietary networking protocols. smartMeeting utilizes SSL 128bit encryption for its entire Web site traffic (web pages, username/password etc.) and this is also used for the uploading/downloading of documents in the document functions. Inside a smartMeeting virtual office security is also administered through personal private invitations to each user. smartMeeting utilizes a secure S/Key algorithm for user authentication, so passwords are not sent over the wire in cleartext and not stored on the server in a form that is useful for intruders.
