Annotation Features - WhiteBoardWave Three Session integrates a full set of whiteboard features and live annotation functions inside its MediaSpace application. MediaSpace is indeed an advanced P2P whiteboard and live collaboration area in which participants can carry out effectively many types of different tasks. The set of annotation tools available in the MediaSpace facility of Session include line, basic drawing shapes and a text tool. For each one the user can specify the color and line thickness. In the case of the text tool any font, size and style can also be specified.
The MediaSpace behaves truly like a standard graphic application space. The user can perform multiple selections with the Shift key, and while drawing lines or geometric shapes Shift can be used to create perfectly symmetrical squares or circles, while when drawing lines it allows for the execution of perfectly horizontal, vertical and oblique lines. Objects created in the Media Space cannot be copied and pasted nor can graphic objects coming from other applications be pasted in this space. A complementary toolbar provides the ability to align graphic objects present on any slide of the Media Space just like the Alignment function available in many popular presentation and graphics layout programs.
A multiple-step Undo command is also available when working inside the MediaSpace allowing easy step back through the most recently executed commands. Of particular interest is the fact that either the video-in or video-out window can be dragged into the MediaSpace and fully annotated while a live feed is being shown. This has proven to be extremely useful in medical applications or in other instances where a video feed may benefit from being annotated live.
