Moderator Controls

« Recording | Main | Participant Controls »

Orbitalk provides some basic moderator controls that facilitate the orderly roll out of an online meeting. The Orbitalk moderator can allow selected participants to have moderator's rights and controls in case one or more assistants or co-presenters need to complement the main presenter work. (This is achieved by providing those selected participants with the "moderator" password.)

The moderator can mute all or selected users during a session and even ban selected ones.

The moderator can selectively or globally terminate/ban users. By banning selected users these cannot re-enter anymore the virtual private room. Terminating them pushes them out of the room when needed without too many compliments. Banned users can be controlled through a specific dialog box and reinstituted when desired.

To enter a room with Moderator privileges, the presenter needs to add her moderator password after the "@" sign in the Login dialog window.

Moderators can also permanently ban users by adding them to a list of globally banned users from Orbitalk rooms.

Moderators get access to all of their privileged functionalities and controls by accessing the room with a special password added to their screen name after the "@" sign. Such password is set by the owner of the system in the Orbitalk owner's private facilities.

In the "back office" facilities of Orbitalk, the owner of the room can set up many individual features including the ability to allow invited participants to do independent Web browsing, to text chat or to even enter the room.
