Desktop - Application SharingVideo Conferencing Main Remote Control Application sharing is an active facility in Orbitalk Web conferencing rooms, but is sold as an option to the basic system configuration ($ 5 extra per month). Application sharing is not as reliable as it should be. It looks promising but it is not really there fully. The facility may crash quite easily or give unexpected results. While this feature has been integrated and made available only recently it does shows promise. In my testing I have seen it improving and made more reliable over the course of the last few months and if you have a good connection it could be used in some situations. The performance of this tool is acceptable though the viewing capabilities are somehow limited. For example when in need to show a PowerPoint presentation one cannot go in full screen mode and it is difficult to find an ideal screen setup that allows best viewing of a full slide during a live presentation. The Orbitalk application sharing facility offers three different methods for providing application sharing to participants, offering three quality levels to select from.
A handy "target" like cursor shows to the meeting participants where the presenter is pointing with her mouse cursor. The feature works effectively only when the participant views the shared screen at its 100% size and not in the reduced view that is also available.
