Text Chat

Inside Microsoft Live meeting the presenter can text chat one-to-one with anyone of the participants.

There is no open text chat window as in most other Web conferencing applications.

Text can be easily cut and pasted from the text chat window into other applications.


Limitations

No auto-URL function. Whe Web addresses are typed they do not become active links.

No formatting options for the text in the text chat window.

No ability to save or print the contents of the text chat window.


N.B.:
The Insert Text Slide facility allows an alternative method to send text messages to participants but it is only a one-way method.

The text chat feature is activated by the presenter/moderator through the Meeting Options facility accessible at the bottom of the Edit menu.
