Microsoft Live Meeting

Cross-Platform Compatibility

« Event Management | Main | Browser Compatibility »

Microsoft Live Meeting supports other operating systems and can integrate attendees participating from Mac and some Unix computers.

Paradoxically Microsoft Live Meeting multi-platform compatibility is made possible by Placeware original full support for Sun Java Virtual Machine and for all the operating systems that supported it.

Macintosh
Microsoft Live Meeting currently supports Mac attendees. Mac attendees must use Mac OS X 10.1 or later and Internet Explorer for Macintosh 5.1 or later. PlaceWare currently does not support Macintosh clients as a meeting Presenters. Classic Mac OS (Mac OS 9 or earlier) is not supported due to limitations in the Classic Mac OS's Java Virtual Machine.

Currently Live Meeting Replay and Windows Media recordings do not work on the Mac, but the other two available recording formats do. Supported recording formats for the Mac are RealPlayer streamed audio and Per-slide audio.

Linux
Not currently supported.

Unix
Sun SPARCstation with Solaris 2.5.1, 2.6, 2.7 or 2.8
