File SharingRemote Control Main Annotation Features - WhiteBoard Groove Workspace offers the ability to view and share any type of document through its "Files" area. Any document loaded in this section is made available to all users of a Workspace and further it can be edited offline and made available automatically to other Workspace users at their next login. Most file formats can also be "read" and while selecting the name of a file one can immediately see its contents independently of the fact that it is a Word document, Excel, Photoshop or Acrobat PDF file. Through the File Sharing functionality, live PowerPoint presentations can be started, as well as "co-editing" sessions in Microsoft Office applications like Word or Excel. There is no need for Groove to have a file broadcasting feature as all of Groove contents are automatically shared and synchronized among all participants in a "shared space" through a P2P (peer-to-peer) network collaboration scheme. Such files reside therefore on each Groove Workspace user PC and are transparently replicated and updated with no human intervention. Files loaded into the "Files" area are shared with all participants and changes to them or to any part of the Workspace are distributed transparently in the background to all other Workspace users. Groove automatically keeps files in sync between your PCs, and the PCs of those you work with. Online work is synchronized instantly and offline work is synchronized upon reconnection. Groove keeps shared space data synchronized among members by storing in a log file all changes made by all members. The size of this log file varies depending on how frequently shared space members run Groove while online so that they can receive everyone's changes.
