Remote Control

« Desktop - Application Sharing | Main | File Sharing »

GoToMeeting integrates a full and easy-to-activate remote control feature allowing the host/presenter to give full access to her keyboard and mouse to any of the participants (or even to all of them at the same time).

The host/presenter can take back control of her PC at any time by simply cliking on the screen.

Together with the ability for GoToMeeting presenters to hand out presenter status to any of the attendees, the Remote Control feature provides a truly effective means to co-edit, collaborate and work interactively on shared documents and applications in real-time.

The feature is also extremely helpful in remote assistance, customer support and training activities, allowing the presenter to take full control of any of the attendees controls to guide her out of dead-end streets or technically challenging situations.

When an Attendee is given shared control, the GoToMeeting application notifies all attendees of the change in control by popping up a yellow-colored tooltip.

Access to this feature is also possible by right-clicking on any participant name inside the Attendee List interface panel.

Even though any attendee, when authorized, may gain shared mouse and keyboard control of the Presenter’s desktop, the Presenter always retains overriding control which can be activated simply by moving the mouse.
