Desktop - Application Sharing

Desktop and individually selected application sharing are the core functionalities of GoToMeeting allowing both the presenter and, if allowed, anyone of the participants to share in real-time the full desktop contents or any pre-designated software program.

Activation and use of this feature is extremely straightforward and easy even for the most non-technical users.

A "Play" button prominently displayed in the top part of the GoToMeeting interface makes starting a screen sharing session as easy as clicking once on it.

A complementary Stop button placed next to the "Show My Screen" play-like button allows one-click ending of the screen sharing activity.

Screen sharing can also be easily paused when the presenter needs to temporarily hide the contents of her screen from public view. The Play button intelligently turns into a "Pause" button everytime a session has been started making it extremely easy to suspend screen sharing temporarily at any one moment.

When you click the Stop button, screen sharing stops immediately and attendees can no longer see what is being displayed on your screen. Your attendees will see the waiting room screen until your click the Play button to resume screen sharing. (Corporate Users can contact their Account Manager to upload a company logo to display on the Waiting Room screen.)

The GoToMeeting application sharing facility also provides a dedicated feature that allows you to select the specific program you want to "show" to your meeting participants. A smartly placed button labelled "Screen" is right below to the main "Play" screen sharing button allowing the end user to intuitively change the Show My Screen function into Show My "Outlook", "PowerPoint" or any other running application active on your PC at the time of the meeting.

To guarantee maximum privacy and professional delivery of your content a "Screen Clean" option allows GoToMeeting presenters to instantly hide their desktop icons and wallpaper background.

An additional unique feature guarantees further assistance to novice presenters by making sure that screen sharing is automatically stopped after a specified period of inactivity (i.e., no keyboard or mouse movement). The default is set to 30 minutes, and can be configured for up to one hour.
