Glance has a very simple and effective online system check facility that can verify whether or not your system is ready to use Glance.

This facility is appropriately called "Can I Glance?" and when accessed it shows a box with a gray field.

If in the gray box a street light appears more information can be derived by looking at the active color on the street light.

Green = OK

Yellow = firewall problems - The yellow color indicates Glance is using HTTP tunneling, which may cause your session to run more slowly (N.B.: well-designed HTTP proxy servers allow “persistent connections” when tunneling HTTP, in which case Glance runs at full speed)
