Cata offers full 128-bit encryption using SSL.

Any data you send over the Internet while creating or administering Cata meetings is also encrypted.

Cata uses both "user-based" and "meeting-based" authentication. Each user has his or her own password, which is used to join all Cata meetings.

The advantages of user-based authentication when combined with meeting-based authentication include:
a) Users only have to remember one password.
b) No one can assume a person's identity in a meeting.
c) You can restrict meetings to only invited users.

Cata also allows you to open meetings to non-users. In that instance, you simply add a meeting-based password for security.

Cata servers utilize a Linux operating system, and are behind a firewall.

Application-sharing displays only the application chosen by the presenter. The presenter's desktop in not exposed to other meeting participants.

Remote control is not enabled unless the presenter chooses it, and the presenter can take control back at any time simply by clicking a button.
