PowerPoint Presentation FacilitiesWeak Points Main Web Touring - Co-Browsing Cata allows PowerPoint presentations to be preloaded onto the Cata server prior to presentation time. Multiple presentations can be uploaded and made available to the presenter during an online session. Presentations can be uploaded as .PPT files or alternatively as individual .JPG or .GIF files. When .PPT presentations are uploaded to the Cata server they are automatically converted to .JPG images, though you have no control over the level of compression applied to them. (As a matter of fact I was quite disappointed with the compression applied to one of my test presentations and opted to upload my own .JPG files. N.B.:This is a time consuming process as you need to upload every single slide one at a time. During a live online session a panel pops up when the presenter clicks on the "Slide List" control button providing a list of all presentations that have been pre-loaded. Once one is selected a second control panel appears. This one lists all of the slides names in the presentation allowing the presenter to access anyone of them at will.
The presentation facility of Cata can be also utilized to upload any type of document, web page or visual which has been previously converted to .jpg or .gif graphic file format, therefore expanding significantly the type and amount of content that can be utilized during a live Cata session. Two display controls facilitate the display of content for each participant in a Cata online meeting. The "zoom" control allows each participant to set the zoom level of the material being shown according to her preferences.
The double-headed arrow next to the zoom tool allows the user to hide the right hand control panels of the Cata virtual room, leaving a lot more space for the presentation area.
N.B.: On some PCs the use of the zoom tool may corrupt the colors of certain images on the receiving end. Switch back to 100% view and to correct this typical display problem.
