Event Management

« Polling | Main | Cross-Platform Compatibility »

Cata provides its owner with a Web-based control panel from which to administer Cata functionalities as well as managing contacts, invitations and the scheduling of online presentations.

The event management facility of Cata is quite good and it offers all of the basic features one would expect from such a functionality. It is possible to set meeting passwords, invite participants, set the meeting duration and other info relative to the meeting.

Through the administration facilities participants can also be invited while a meeting is taking place.

Cata offers also an effective way to notify all invited participants in the case that a meeting is canceled. This can be done either when a meeting in progress is suddenly canceled or before the meeting has actually started.

Please note that one should be careful in setting up the timing for his/her virtual meetings through Cata as the technology will be rather inflexible in closing the meeting at the time you have preset. This is rather an hindrance and a dangerous one as no matter what the presenter would be doing the meeting would be closed without forewarning or ability to extend it further.

In the last version of Cata one key new feature is the capacity to extend a meeting. When a meeting is about to expire the presenter receives a notice five minutes before the scheduled meeting end time. The presenter has an option to click on a button and extend the meeting for 30 minutes.
