Desktop - Application Sharing

« Video Conferencing | Main | Remote Control »

Cata offers a reliable application sharing module that allows the presenter to select which application, open on his PC, needs to be shared with all meeting participants.

As application sharing is generally bandwidth intensive it is strongly suggested that the resolution set on the presenter screen is set at 800*600 to make sure that:

  1. all participants can see the presenter application without needing to scroll
  2. the performance is acceptable as the bandwidth required to refresh an 800*600 screen is significantly less than the one needed to update a 1024*768 screen.

Cata takes the above issues in serious consideration and it provides a smart prompt in those situations where the presenter attempts to share an application while her screen is set to a resolution higher than 800*600. Through such smart prompt it reminds the presenter of the issue and if authorized it automatically resizes the window of the application to be shared at the desired resolution (without resetting the whole desktop/monitor resolution).
