Annotation Features - WhiteBoardThe Cata online meeting room displays by default a whiteboard area in which one can use the annotation tools to draw. Cata has integrated its annotation tools in the main interface and these annotation tools are available at all times to the presenter. Only During Application Sharing and while in Zoom Mode, these options are disabled. The annotation tools offered by Cata include the standard set of drawing tools that includes line, rectangles and ellipses. An arrow is provided along with a line thickness control and a 16-color selector.
A unique pointing arrow provides also for real time "pointing" at specific elements on the content being displayed. The presenter can use this tool almost like laser-pens are normally used during presentation sessions. Too bad that the annotation and mark-up tools are so simple and unsophisticated. The great insight of Cata in making the annotation tools available at all times is somewhat offset by the limited selection and controls available in this facility. For example, it would have been nice to have more control on the styles of lines and to have more gradients for the selection of line thickness. By default the annotation and mark-up tools are available to the presenter
