NPR Podcast Directory

NPR currently is a directory of over 180 podcasts of NPR programs listed by topic. The main page lists the featured podcasts, but you can also look by topic, title and provider. To get more information about a podcast, click on its title and a description appears along with the subscription link. Each podcast description also provides more information in which it takes you to the program's Web page. It doesn't take podcast submissions as it's for its own programs.

Blogdigger indexes blog and media content so it's available for searching. Its search results are available as RSS and Atom feeds, so you can subscribe to the keyword searches and get automatically notified through your feed reader. It also provides RSS feeds of media content includes Windows Media, MP3, QuickTime, and BitTorrent. To find podcasts, click on Media and subscribe to its RSS feed.
You can search for media by entering keywords and checking only the audio box so the search displays audio content. Results can be sorted by date or relevance. The Media page also has an RSS feed for audio so you know when feeds have been updated. Blogdigger Groups is for combining the contents of two or more blogs so you can access the contents with one feed. Since podcasts usually have feeds, you should be able to combine them as well.

Blast Podcast is a directory of podcasts and a technology and service provider that brings together Podcast publishers and advertisers using proprietary software. Search the directory by category, by viewing the big list of over 3,000 podcasts, by keyword search, or by browsing the list of featured podcasts, top ten, and newest. Blast Podcast also has a forum for discussing podcasting.
Each podcast listing includes a rating, date created, home page link, host, language, categories, description, and summary of episodes.

iTunes Podcast Directory

Every podcast from iTunes is free and delivered to the iTunes Podcast Library. Subscribe to any of the over 25,000 podcasts you want using iTunes and it automatically downloads them to the library where you can organize and rate the collection of podcasts. The iTunes Podcasts page lists podcasts that are New & Notable, Interesting Indies, Public Radio Favorites, Technology, Today's Top Podcasts.
You can also browse by or use the search box. You can download the podcasts to your iPod from iTunes like you do with any other music or audio file. iTunes features parental controls so adult content can't be accessed. You can also listen to an entire podcast before deciding whether or not to subscribe.
Submit your podcast feed through iTunes by clicking on "Learn more" about submitting your podcast feed to the iTunes Podcast Directory (it does not work with Firefox) here: http://www.apple.com/podcasting/. This opens iTunes where you can enter the podcast feed.

Feedzie - Podcast Directory

Feedzie is a collection of audio content feeds with over 6500 podcasts and 80,000 episodes. You can search or browse for feeds with tags like as technology, games and news or geo tag such as Germany, Australia and Los Angeles. Each entry includes a description, categories, and you can play streaming audio from within the entry.
Feedzie's sister site, Ziepod (http://www.ziepod.com/), is a free toolkit for finding and managing podcasts that's integrated with Feedzie's features. Through Feedzie's one-click panels, you can subscribe, play, and download podcasts through Ziepod. Users of Ziepod can search episodes in Feedzie without opening browser windows.
