Odeo

http://www.odeo.com/
Odeo consists of three major parts: A catalog of all types of audio content, which is constantly updated; the Odeo Syncr, which lets you download anything from the catalog (and, optionally, put it on your MP3 player); and creation tools that include the Odeo Studio so you can publish your own audio content, which appears in the catalog (The creation tools aren't available yet.).
Odeo has a directory of podcasts with a description of the channel description and its metadata. The site is folksonomy-enabled and it uses tags to classify content. In the future, it will offer web services api for parts of the site including the flash podcast player, the studio, syncr client and for integration with the phone system.

Internet Archive

http://www.archive.org
You may know this site as the Wayback Machine. It is an Internet library that contains past and present collections of almost anything available in digital media format. While it's best known for storing Web sites, it also has audio and videos.
Search for podcasts by selecting Audio from the Media Types drop-down next to the search box and enter "podcast" into the search box. Sort search results by relevance, ratings, date or date added. You can also group results and refine your search as there are over 2500 results for podcast. After selecting a podcast, the detail page provides a description, URLs for the site and fed and other relevant information.
To contribute to the archive requires free registration. After you've registered, click on "recording" under Audio: Upload your own recording. There are several ways to do it and the page explains how.

Ourmedia

http://ourmedia.org/
Ourmedia is a community for discussing home-brew media, sharing and storing works on the site for free and read the group blog for the goings-on. There are groups and neighborhoods. You can browse by media type, which includes video, audio, text and images. To find podcasts, enter "podcast" into the search box.
Each program's detailed page lists the author, location, home page, tags, link to feed and other details. The entry also indicates whether or not you can share and use the work. Registered users can have their own page, publish media, check messages and view the buddy list. The site is often busy, so you may have to wait a bit for things to load.
