Tsunami Video Footage: Where To Find It

Here it is. This is my best effort at bringing together all of the videos, amateur footage and official TV news stories that have appeared on the Web in the last seven days. It is a growing collection that would have not been possible if not thanks to the many individual bloggers, news media sites and independent reporters who have been spotting and hosting these unique direct media reports since day one.

As the videos and resources have grown in number and so the demand for them it has become more and more complicated for the non-technical user to find easily some of these unique visual clips as many servers have crashed under the flood of requests.

And while some of the major media news outlet have had to unlink their most popular Tsunami video reports (NBC10.com) many independents have resorted to host much of this material via BitTorrent, a new P2P file distribution protocol/software that makes it extremely easy and effective to distribute large files without needing to worry about bandiwidth consumption. As in other P2P applications each of the downloaders becomes a re-distributor and in this case, BitTorrent uniqueness allows anyone to downlod from multiple sources simultaneously achieving efficiency and download speeds unheard of before.
