News Splicing, Categorized Feeds And Instant Blogrolls: GBlog 2.0

Jeff Kang of the GBlog development team just announced the release of version 2.0 of their GBlog blogging software.

Its most remarkable features are

  1. categorized feeds

  2. instantly updated, expanding blogrolls

  3. sticky blog entries

  4. CSS layout templates that can be selected by readers

  5. FeedJam: built-in splicer

  6. traffic stats

These features are well-showcased on GBlog, The GBlog development team blog.

GBlog requires you to run your own PHP-based webserver and is not affiliated with Google.

It is free for personal, non-commercial use.

Keep an eye on the GBlog information page.

Update Oct. 4th 2004: Just after I finalized this post the GBlog people renamed the GBlog blog to G'Blogged.

GBlog Blog will be updated often to inform users about more of GBlog's features. In the meantime, best way to get to know GBlog is to try it. It requires minimum installation.
