Virtual Time-Capsule Takes You Where You May Have Not Been

Well this is really not my typical spotting, as this beautiful time capsule has been long praised, reviewed and acclaimed by many sites around the world. What strikes the most, in this impressive 360° view of Times Square on last New Year's eve, is the genuine sense of immersion that this stunning virtual time capsule can provide. The combination of a short looping audio recording of the moment in which the picture was shot adds a whole new layer of realism, intimacy and character to the whole showcase. As I have immersed myself quite a few times in contemplating the effectiveness of this digital imaging approach, I spotted over time some unique details about this image that may make you enjoy the show even more. If you look close enough and play a bit with the zoom feature, you should have no trouble in finding my three favourites characters: a) De Niro, b) Blair, c) the happy-looking NYPD cop calling home. Enjoy. (Quicktime plugin required)
