  1. Video sharing community offers a revenue sharing program through Google AdSense

  3. Web-based spreadsheet editor that enables instantaneous online collaboration with anyone

Here is another edition of the Sharewood Picnic, the weekly collection of some of the most interesting new media tools and resources hand-picked by Robin Good and me (Livia Iacolare) during our daily online explorations.

  1. Flixya

    Flixya is a video sharing community where users can share videos from YouTube, Google Video, DailyMotion, and other video sharing sites. Flixya offers a revenue sharing program (requires Google AdSense account) and a rewards program where users can win prizes. You will make 50% of the Google Adsense revenue generated by the videos you submit. In addition, Flixya has a charity feature, which gives back to the community. Free to use.

  2. Civil Netizen

    Civil Netizen is a personal file transfer program that works by directly connecting you to your recipients. First your files and folders will be compressed into a parcel archive (.parc). Then, instead of e-mailing the actual files, you give a pickup slip to your recipients, which is about 8 lines of text. Using information in the pickup slip, Civil Netizen will begin downloading files directly from your computer. Once download is complete, your recipients can choose to unpack the parcel to their desktop or another folder. Free to use.

  3. Numbler

    Numbler is a web-based spreadsheet editor that enables instantaneous online collaboration with anyone on your project team. With Numbler multiple users can work with a spreadsheet, view changes in real time, and discuss changes. Numler provides full size sheets and 256 x 65536 cells. Free to use.

  4. ajaxSketch

    ajaxSketch is a web-based drawing tool that provides an environment for diagramming, creating flow charts, free hand drawing and more. You can perform functions such as resize, rotate, change background or pen colors, and alter opacity directly within your Firefox browser. Once finished with your images, you can easily save your work right to your hard drive. ajaxSketch is free to use and requires Mozilla Firefox.

  5. Kopete

    Kopete is a multi-protocol, free software instant messaging client supporting Jabber, Google Talk, ICQ, AIM, Gadu-Gadu, GroupWise, IRC, .NET Messenger Service, SMS, and Yahoo! Messenger. Although it can run in numerous environments, it was designed for and integrates with the KDE desktop environment. Free download.

  6. SingShot

    SingShot is an online community which provides access to thousands of songs and allows you to record your own version of songs. SingShot also provides you with your own recording studio where you can organize your recordings, add favorite members and recordings, and communicate with other SingShot members. Features like recording songs are accessible by signing-up for a trial membership which will give you access to thousands of songs right away. After the free trial period, you can always choose from one of the subscription plans to enjoy recording unlimited songs. Free sign up.

  7. Orangoo

    Orangoo is a web-based application that lets you spell correct from any system or computer that has Internet access. Orangoo provides spell check in 27 languages and it partially uses the Google spell checker and Aspell. The source code is free, so users can place it in their own Web applications. Free to use.

  8. Wizlite

    Wizlite is a web-based service allows you to highlight text (like on real paper) on any page on the Internet and share it with everybody. If you have to research on a topic on the Internet collaboratively you can create a group on Wizlite and you are instantly enabled to share pages with their selections. Wizlite uses a Firefox extension or a bookmarklet (wizlite) to show and store the selections. You can view public selections anonymously (Firefox extension or bookmarklet: wizanon). Free to use.

    DropShots is a web service that allows you to share photos and videos. DropShots supports MPG, AVI, MOV, WMV, and 3GP from all major digital cameras. DropShots uses the Flash plug-in to stream the video and allows you to embed your content in a website. This service provides support both for Windows and Mac users and is designed to be kid safe. Free to use.

  10. Fotopages

    Fotopages is a website that allows you to create your own photoblog. You are enabled to create entries via email, from a mobile phone equipped with a camera or any email program. Each Fotopage has its own subdomain: http://username.fotopages.com and viewers can post comments to your entries. Free to use.

    iKnolio is a service that helps you save text notes on the Web. You can classify your notes according to tags, make them public or private, search them and add filters. You may publish/make your notes for other users and also you can read all the information written for others by your friends.Everything is stored in the same place where you have the access from all over the world via Internet.
