PDF Text Online is a service that converts PDF files in text files. PDF Text Online handles all fonts and languages (including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and more) and you don't need to download or install anything on your computer, as it is completely web-based. PDF Text Online is still in beta, and uses Ajax technology. The EULA for PDF Text Online gives this service the right to turn your text over to third parties. Also, by downloading anything (including, presumably, your own text) you certify that it is non-proprietary. Free to use.

Zapr is an application that lets you create links to any files on your PC. You can send these links to friends (via email or instant messenger) and they can get the files directly from your computer via their browser. Once you have added your friends' email address, simply drag and drop the file onto their names in Zapr. Zapr automatically creates a link and emails it to your friends. Your friends open the link using a browser and they are soon enabled to download the file. You can also use Zapr to put a link to your content on your blog. To install Zapr, you need Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0. Free download.
