Visual Communication Tools

  1. Iimmgg

Iimmgg is a picture hosting and editing service that allows you to get all of your images on the Internet. Without even registering, you can upload images and start editing them with the integrated image editor (Picnik) and, when you are satisfied, you can get the sharing and embedding codes to send those pictures to everyone. Free to use.

  2. ScrnShots

ScrnShots is a desktop application for Windows and Mac platforms, that you can use to take and upload screenshots online. After you select a region of the screen, you can immediately upload it into your account, provide a description and tags, and get links and codes to embed or share what you have just captured. Free to use, ScrnShots offers unlimited space for your screenshots.

  3. Zleek

Zleek is a free service that offers you a set of layouts to create your online photo albums. After you register, you can select any of the preset layout and start adding your pictures, with no fixed placing schemes, so that you can create a real collage of images. You can then share your album with people, and they can also download all the pictures from that gallery with one click. Free.

  4. Yodio

Yodio is a free service that anyone can use to combine audio and pictures. You can upload all of your pictures and use your phone to record a narration: you can then mix them together from your Yodio account and, when your narrated slideshow is complete, you can share it with a public link or simply embed it on any site. The service is free to use, registration needed.

  5. Animasher

Animasher is a web based app that allows you to create Flash animations. Without any registration, you can upload images and music, or use presets to easily create your animations. You can add captions, audio narration, background images and transition effects and more. When done, the animation can be saved and embedded anywhere on the web. Free to use.

Video Publishing Tools

  1. CSLive

CSLive is a free video streaming service that lets you broadcast content from around the web or your own webcam. You can watch other people's channels, or broadcast your own, and interact with your viewers through a text-chat. Shows can also be embedded on any site. The service is in public beta, and is free to try out at the moment.

  2. Dropamovie

Dropamovie is a video search engine that combines results from YouTube, MySpace, LiveVideo, DailyMotion and MetaCafe. After you enter a keyword, results from all the services will gather, and you will be able to play them directly from the site. When you find what you like, you can go to the video page.

  3. Vidmaza

Vidmaza is a video downloading system that you can use to get all of your favorite videos from major sharing sites. Just paste the URL of the video, or make a research directly from Vidmaza, click download, and pick whether to download the FLV (low quality videos) or MP4 (high quality videos). Currently it supports YouTube only, but other sites will be added soon. Free.
