Tell us about yourself and your background... how did you get started in art, design and programming? I actually started as tailor, I enjoyed the element of design but not tailoring, I always had an intense interest in computers the ability to have open access to any type of information you want intrigued me. I admired the freedom that this computer age had brought. So I decided to venture foward into a field the melded the two things that I enjoyed, Design and Technology together. I became a New Media Artist. That step ten years ago leads from Graphic Artist, to Web Designer to Developer. As Web Designer I wanted to promote my local culture online I come from Trinidad, but I found it very difficult years ago to actually pull off, especially when it came to managing articles and music on web sites. Several years later after the project crashed I discovered content management. One of things I love about the Internet is all the information you can learn from it, I consider it My private university, I really think someone should have the internet accredited, Greater still is that education came FREE of charge. Learning about Content Management System (CMS), made my updating and archiving article very simple, I choose one of the many free CMS solutions at the time called Mambo Now Joomla. Favourite Invention of the Internet the OPEN SOURCE!! I soon discovered though Podcasting and video casting was having a major boom at the time that the specific tools I needed to stream FLV files were unavailable. I couldn't wait another 3 yrs so I decided to jump headlong into a new field as an App developer. I started developing my own Flash Player and with endless FREE tutorials I soon learned to script and develop my own flash player. I am currently at the point where I am trying to launch my web Design and application development Company. I want have a website where various artist that are not as technical savvy can publish their own work online. I believe the internet can balance out the advantage that million dollar companies have had over the years. My interest as well as to make living for my family is to pass on the benefits that internet has given to me and to collaborate with the Great minds of Open Source developers and entrepreneurs.
