Creative Weblogging has just launched a new service called Creative Reporter allowing readers to contribute tips, news, pointers and full articles to its thematic network of blogs.
Readers can post not only text information, links and background references but can also upload digital audio recordings and video clips in the most popular formats.

The user-driven contributions are then filtered, evaluated and selected by Creative Weblogging own editors-bloggers, now counting more than 40, who may decide to repost them as they are or to incorporate them into other coverage or news items they are working on.
Grassroots reporters uploading content to the Creative Weblogging blog network get also a monetary compensation for their quality contributions in the way of a paycheck of $10 for each 1000/page views that their contributed content will generate. Readers-contributors can directly track and monitor the traffic to their published articles as the platform that supports content submissions integrates full reporting of their total submissions and the traffic statistics they generate.
The new service is labeled 'Creative Reporter Network' and with it every reader can now become an active contributor to one of the Internet's fastest-growing blog networks.
Just a few hours before its official launch, I took the time to have a good online conversation with Torsten Jacobi, CEO of Creative Weblogging and the key person behind this new initiative.
In our half hour talk I ask Torsten everything about how his weblogs network operates and how he selects, recruits and manages independent bloggers working for him, as well as what are the paybacks and returns for this type of work.
Here is what he had to say:
Creative Weblogging is an online blog network based in Palo Alto, California that reaches more than five hundred thousand readers per month. The network powers 40+ premium blog sites in categories ranging from RFID and Mobile Technology to Medicine and Gadgets.
To participate as a contributor in the new Creative Reporter Network you need only to complete a very simple sign-up at http://www.creative-reporter.com.
As mentioned, 'Creative Reporters' can submit text, audio and video content while taking full advantage of the easy-to-use publishing framework Creative Weblogging has developed and made available.
Submitted articles appear online after being individually reviewed by the Creative Weblogging team of bloggers and editors and through the collaborative Creative Reporter platform contributing reporters can also receive email notifications when readers post comments to their content.
